Announcement for the Position of Professorship

1. Position Available: One Assistant Professor

2. Affiliation: Education Academy of Computational Life Sciences (ACLS)

3. Mission: Planning, executing and coordinating classes in ACLS, a Program for Leading Graduate Schools supported by MEXT, Japan.
Conducting various English learning activities that are required for its development and promotion.

4. Requirements:
(1) Applicants must understand and promote the philosophy and objectives of ACLS’s education.
(2) Applicants must have the ability to perform the Business Affairs described in the following clause.
(3) Applicants must have English as their first language or demonstrate an equivalent level of proficiency.
(4) Applicants must have outstanding achievement in the Business Affairs and the ability to supervise graduate students.
(5) Applicants must have a doctorate or master’s degree plus five years of experience in a related discipline.

5. Business Affairs: Teaching “Global Writing on Computational Life Sciences,” serving as a writing consultant, and participating in other events of ACLS.
Research Field: Computer Science, Life Science, Scientific Writing.

6. Expected Start Date: At the earliest possible date after October 1, 2014.

7. The Term of Office: Until Mar. 31, 2015.
Annual reappointment is available after Apr. 1, 2015 until Mar. 31, 2018, the ending date of ACLS.

8. The Place of Work: Ookayama Campus (Meguro-ku, Tokyo) and Suzukakedai Campus (Midori-ku, Yokohama)
