The Academy is an educational program established at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in FY2011, aiming to train potential leaders who will play an active role internationally in multiple fields in life sciences and computer science. The faculty from School of Life Science and Technology and School of Computing work closely together to provide a multidisciplinary education program.
Students can enroll in the program without leaving their main curriculum courses.
Since the fiscal year of 2012, we provide a 5-year integrated training course (combining a master's and a doctor's program) called the " Computational Life Science Doctors Education Program" in this academy. In this program, which is supported by the research fund from the Program for Leading Graduate Schools (from FY 2011 to 2017) by the Ministry of Education,Culture,Sports,Science & Technology in Japan (MEXT), we focus on training potential leaders who will play an active role internationally in multiple fields in life science and information science, by supporting our students with splendid learning environments, financial aid for domestic or international travel expenses for attending conferences, scholarship offers, career path support, and so on.
Students who complete this 5-year combined master's and doctoral program will receive a special doctoral degree with their diploma. Those who take credits for the master's program will receive a certificate as well.
